Minnesota Legislature's 2007 session

Convincing constituents

April 2, 2007

St. Paul, Minn. — Lawmakers are gearing up to leave their offices at the Capitol and head home this week. This is usually a time when constituents have a chance to talk with the elected officials.

But before the break, they had some big decisions to make first. The Senate voted to raise income taxes on the wealthiest Minnesotans during a floor session on Saturday.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked with Minnesota Public Radio Capitol reporter Tom Scheck about what this vote will mean for lawmakers.
