Minnesota Legislature's 2007 session

A roadblock at the Capitol

March 26, 2007

St. Paul, Minn. — Democrats who control the Legislature and Gov. Tim Pawlenty appear headed for a showdown on transportation funding.

Over the weekend, the House passed a plan similar to one already approved in the Senate that includes a higher gas tax and higher vehicle registration fees.

The governor says he'd veto either measure. MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked with Minnesota Public Radio Capitol reporter Tom Scheck for a look at the week ahead in the Legislature.
