Statement of one of the imams

March 13, 2007

Three of the six imams who were removed from a US Airways flight in the Twin Cities in November 2006 discussed their lawsuit during a news conference Tuesday morning.

Washington D.C. — The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Minneapolis, claims US Airways discriminated against the imams because of "perceived race, religion, ... and/or national origin."

One of the three clerics at the news conference was Imam Didmar Faja, who heads the Albanian Islamic Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Faja explained the events of that day at the Twin Cities airport.
