Minnesota Legislature's 2007 session

Dollars and bills

March 12, 2007

St. Paul, Minn. — To raise taxes or not is emerging as a big question at the State Capitol. Lawmakers do have a projected surplus to work with for the next two-year budget, but some legislators are saying it might not be enough to pay for top priorities.

Other legislation expected to come up this week includes several consumer protection bills and a proposal that involves work benefits for same-sex couples.

Cathy Wurzer talked Minnesota Public Radio reporter Tom Scheck to get a look at the week ahead at the capitol.
