Rare joint committee hearing at the Legislature
St. Paul, Minn. — The state Legislature will discuss global warming in a rare joint committee hearing on the floor of House of Representatives.
Four Senate and four House committees will hear from environmental advocates, including polar explorer Will Steger, Archbishop Harry Flynn and University of Minnesota forest ecologist Lee Frelich.
This will be the first hearing of this scope since 1988 when several committees met to discuss AIDS.
Cathy Wurzer talked with State Senator Ellen Anderson, a Democrat from St. Paul, who is a sponsor of legislation titled The Global Warming Mitigation Act of 2007.
