Minnesota's Department of Natural Resources may be headed for a new direction

St. Paul, Minn. — There's an open position in Minnesota's Department of Natural Resources. After a surprise shake-up at the Capitol last week, Gene Merriam says he is voluntarily leaving his position as DNR Commissioner. His replacement has not yet been named.
The job of DNR commissioner can be difficult as there are many competing interests to contend with. Cathy Wurzer talked with Star Tribune columnist Dennis Anderson about the challenges of the position and how Gene Merriam performed during his tenure.
