Guy Davis performs in studio

by Bill DeVille, Minnesota Public Radio
November 22, 2006

St. Paul, Minn. — Blues musician, writer, actor and director are words that describe Guy Davis. Storyteller is another one.

Guy Davis grew up on blues music, influenced by such greats as Blind Willie McTell, Mississippi John Hurt and Buddy Guy. He's recorded a number of albums for the Twin Cities own Red House Records, the latest release being "Skunkmello". Before his show at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis, he stopped by the studio with Nerak Roth Patterson to share some stories and the blues with The Current's Bill DeVille.

Songs performed: "Chocolate Man," "Watch Over Me," and "Did You See My Baby?"
