Minneapolis ponders instant runoff voting

October 10, 2006

Voters in Minneapolis will face a ballot question this November that could change the way they vote in future citywide elections. If approved by voters, a new system called instant runoff voting would have voters rank candidates in order of preference.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer discussed the proposed system with political science professor Paula Lynch O'Loughlin of the University of Minnesota, Morris.
