Assessing Afghanistan

Afghan President Hamid Karzai meets with President Bush Tuesday morning, in preparation for tri-lateral talks Wendsday, which will include Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf.

• Peter Tomsen: Fellow at the Center for Afghanistan Studies at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Tomsen served as special envoy on Afghanistan with the rank of ambassador from 1989-92.
