Melissa Bank hits "The Wonder Spot"

St. Paul, Minn. — Author Melissa Bank blasted onto the literary scene with her book "The Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing."

The novel was a runaway success and will become a film starring Sarah Michelle Geller and Alec Baldwin.

Yet it took Bank five years to publish her next novel "The Wonder Spot."

The book is a series of bittersweet stories about the life and adventures of Sophie Applebaum. Bank told Minnesota Public Radio's Euan Kerr most days Sophie is just muddling through.
