St. Paul, Minn. — Hailing from San Francisco, childhood friends and Saddle Creek duo Adam Stephens and Tyson Vogel are known as Two Gallants. The pair have a soft-spoken manner that belies the power of their warm, romantic Western sound: equal parts American traditional and the modern, world-weary sensibility of a new generation.

Two Gallants are on tour in support of their latest record "What The Toll Tells", which is garnering critical acclaim in the U.S. and abroad, and came to talk with Mark Wheat about where they came from and what the future holds - and whether you can really get away with calling their hometown "Frisco."

Songs performed: "Steady Rollin'," "Trembling of the Rose," and "Untitled."
