Singing out at 25

Minneapolis, Minn. — "Gay men building community through music." That's the motto of the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus. The group is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a series of concerts at the Ted Mann Concert Hall in Minneapolis.

With more than 140 members, the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus is the 4th largest gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender choral group in the world. It also has a reputation of being one of the best. But its primary mission has always been to provide a place for gay men to be open about who they are.

This July, the group will embark on a tour of the deep south, with stops scheduled in Tennessee, Mississippi and Lousiana, including New Orleans. In Nashville, the chorus will be the first "gay identified" group ever to take the stage at the Grand Ole Opry.

Three long time chorus members talked about its importance in their lives.
