Cinema in the Arab world

The film industry in the Arab world goes back decades, but only recently has it been recognized by Western countries. A conference in Minneapolis reveals how lively and relevant the films are, despite the presence of censors and conservative audiences.

Hisham Bizri: A filmmaker and native of Lebanon. Currently, he's an assistant professor in the cultural studies department at the University of Minnesota.

Yousry Nasrallah: A filmmaker who lives in Cairo, Egypt. His films include "The Gate of the Sun" and "Mercedes."
