While it seems like a contradiction, Gomez is a British band known for its American roots rock.
Austin, TX — Many people are surprised when they learn Gomez is a British band. By mixing blues into its rock, this five-piece combo can sound quintessentially American. The group's music has been compared that of everyone from Tom Waits to Marvin Gaye. Gomez's first album, Bring it On, won the Mercury Music Prize in 1998.
