Customers balking at increasing bank fees

St. Paul, Minn. — Customers are increasingly irritated about bank fees, and that's bad news for banks like TCF Financial Corporation. Revenue from fees at Wayzata-based TCF fell 2.5 percent in 2005 after growing significantly in previous years. The fall contributed to a year-over-year profit decline at TCF in the fourth quarter of last year.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked with Nicole Garrison Sprenger, who covered the story for this week's edition of The Business Journal.
