Essie Jain
Essie Jain moved to New York City from England two weeks before September 11, 2001. Despite her parents worries, Jain stuck it out and has prospered in her new hometown. The opera-trained singer-songwriter doesn't sound very opera-y, but credits her two years of study for teaching how to control her voice. She sounds thrilled to have her first album out in the world. The New Standards
The New Standards triumphantly returned to the Fitzgerald Theater for their second annual holiday concert on Saturday, December 8. The trio -- John Munson (Semisonic and Trip Shakespeare), Chan Poling (The Suburbs) and Steve Roehm (Electropolis) -- was joined by an all-star guest list including Haley Bonar, Mike Doughty, Dan Wilson, Matt Wilson, Adam Levy, Jelloslave, Maddie Poling, Laurie Lindeen, JoAnna James, Jeremy Messersmith and Tim Frantzich. True to the New Standards, the show was a mix of holiday classics and unexpected takes on recent favorites. (12/08/2007)
Singer / Songwriter Joshua James
This Lincoln, NE native didn't start playing the guitar seriously until he was twenty years old. After traveling through Venezuela South America and seeing another country's culture, Joshua had an eye opening experience and began to utilize what he had seen, learned and felt into inspiration for song writing. James Buckley Trio
For the past five years James Buckley has been at the forefront of the Twin Cities music community, from his early days playing bass with the experimental Poor Line Condition to his recent work with The Pines, some say Buckley is prolific. (09/23/2009)

Mason Jennings
With the release of his eighth album "Blood of Man," Mason Jennings is exploring a world that is remarkably foreign from the one he has called home for seven previous albums. While the electric guitar is in no way a new piece of futuristic equipment, Mason has used it to create a sound that is a bit darker and edgier than anything he has done before. (09/15/2009)
The Joggers perform "Ziggurat Traffic," "Wicked Light Sleeper," and "Era Prison" (11/19/2005)
Johnsmith
Johnsmith calls himself a "blue collar" songwriter and by looking at his history you could say that's accurate. He spent a number of years as a songwriter for Nashville music companies and has won numerous awards for his creations including honors at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival. He also teaches songwriting to up and coming performers. (11/07/2007)

Jurassic 5
Anyone who knows anything about "Old School Hip Hop" has probably compared Jurassic 5 to the Cold Crush Brothers, The Crash Crew, or the Furious Five. Don't be confused, as J5 has their own signature style that is like nothing else on the Hip Hop scene today. (09/04/2006)
