Macworld live-Twittered, sort of
Posted at 2:17 PM on January 15, 2008 by Jon Gordon
I attempted to live blog the Steve Jobs keynote speech at Macworld using Twitter on my BlackBerry. But Twitter, somewhat predictably, crashed. Here's a transcript of what came across before the updates failed:
Steve likes Blades of Glory. Ouch.
HD movies to cost more. No applause for that one.
No computer required for new version. Accomodates HD movies. Biggest applause.
Jobs admits Apple TV is a failure. Announces new version.
Can watch on computers, iphones, ipods
30 days to start watching, but only 24 hours to finish once started Weird.
All major studios signed up. 1000 films by end of Feb.
Movie rentals announced for iTunes
Mail, maps, stocks, notes and weather apps added to iPod touch. Will cost u 20 bucks.
New refinements to iPhone maps, interface, messaging. Polite applause.
4 million iPhones sold to date. But I'm on live twittering on a BlackBerry
Time Capsule announced. Its a "backup appliance". Wireless backup to this device.
Five million copies of leopard delivered
Jobs: 2007 was extraordinary year for Apple
New Mac add debuts. At least I think its new.
Jobs appears. Jeans and a turtleneck of course.
Lights dim as Feist plays WAY too loud.
Now it's old Green Day on the PA. How aboit something newer?
We are a people obsessed with technology and celebrity.
More media at stevenote than any other event I've covered in my long career.
Doors to stevenote open. Sound system blasting Coldplay. Icky.
In massive media queue @ Macworld
