Apple TV roundup

Posted at 1:13 PM on March 22, 2007 by Jon Gordon

Curious about the just-launched Apple TV device? Here are some good sources of information so you can educate yourself:

USA Today tech columnist Ed Baig says Apple TV is an "elegantly simple device wirelessly connects music and video from your computer's iTunes library to the big-screen TV in your den."

In the New York Times, reviewer David Pogue writes,

So what is Apple TV? Basically, it’s an iPod for your TV. That is, it copies the iTunes library (music, podcasts, TV shows, movies) from one Mac or Windows PC on your wired or wireless home network to its 40-gigabyte hard drive and keeps the copy updated.

Make sure to watch Pogue's video review of Apple TV. It's a bit of cheesy slapstick, but helpful in understanding what the Apple TV can do.

You can watch the king of tech reviewers, Walt Mossberg, talk about the Apple TV here.
