In the Loop: How is tech bringing us together?
Posted at 10:49 AM on January 18, 2007 by Jon Gordon
MPR's In the Loop is taping in the UBS Forum tonight. Looks like a great lineup of topics, according to host Jeff Horwich:
Our topic this time: How is our evolving world of information and communication technology — from cell phones to instant messaging to Google to podcasting — transforming the way we relate to each other? Where has technology brought us together in new ways, or strengthened our relationships with each other? And when have our new forms of media and communication isolated us, or caused human relationships to suffer?
A sampling of what's in store for this show:
*A dispatch from one of Minnesota's most-wired small towns
*A look at how men and women operate differently in the digital age
*Stand-up comedy (something we haven't tried before!)
*Two new musical performances from The Smarts and myself
*What happens when you consume nothing but YouTube for a week?
*We sit down for a heart-to-heart about MySpace and "texting" with those who know these new technologies best
You can hear In the Loop Friday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m.
