NWS seeking comments on new web site and state soil declared

The NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) has redesigned their web site, providing a larger format image of the nation, broader range of data visualizations, and more specific forecasts. They are taking public comments on the new design until May 18th. If you wish to participate please go to the Preview Version, and their is a template for making public comments.

After several efforts over the years to designate a state soil the Minnesota Association of Professional Soil Scientists (MAPSS) and others have been successful in getting the legislature to designate Lester as the state soil (named for Lester Prairie). It is a loamy soil in glacial till areas of the state, and it supports the production of corn and soybeans. Found in 17 Minnesota counties Lester encompasses about 600,000 acres of land in the state.

Question: How many of you would like to see a "state cloud" designated?

A state cloud? How about the legislative fog over St. Paul until May?

I think the state legislature has better things to work on than a state soil or any other official state anything. That's a waste of time IMHO.
