After about an inch of rain fell this morning in parts of Minnesota, the clouds parted and afternoon sunshine has triggered thunderstorms from the west Metro to Hutchinson to New Ulm. Some of the thunderstorms have produced hail up to three quarter inch in diameter.

We're keeping an eye on further development. You can follow the thunderstorm potential here on the National Weather Service Chanhassen Office storm page.

I spoke with a lead forecaster at the Chanhassen National Weather Service Office at 815PM CDT. He stated that they did not have a report of damage from the tornado observed in Medina.

Click here for their accumulated storm reports from this afternoon and evening.

More storms were firing up in west central Minnesota and extreme south central Minnesota. Sleep with one eye open and your NOAA Weather Radio in alert mode.
