Minnesotans not fooled by Mother Nature

Clouds parted after morning thundershowers in central Minnesota. It turned out to be a very nice day once again for the Great Minnesota Get-together.

I thought the morning rain would decoy Fair-goers and hold down the crowd. it did for a few hours. By the time I departed the Fair, after hearing one person say, I can't eat any more fried food, the grounds were packed. Wow, what a crowd!

Thunderstorms redeveloped over portions of west central Wisconsin this afternoon. At the same time a chilly day set in over northern Minnesota, with spotty showers. Temperatures were in the middle 50s in the Arrowhead region at mid afternoon.

let's not play up the chilly weather for the weekend, but accept it as a nice change of pace as we transition out of the meteorological summer, which ends August 31st.

Your high temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be about eight to ten degrees cooler than normal. Sunday afternoon should feel comfortable with sunshine and light winds. Evenings will be ideal for sharing stories around a camp fire.

Summer to Fall; the best of both worlds in the upper Midwest.
