The average temperature for the first 21 days of December in International Falls is running 11.5 degrees below normal. They have received just shy of thirty inches of snow, with slightly more than one inch of moisture. That comes out to about a thirty to one ratio of snow and water equivalent.
Winds have dropped off considerably as the center of the arctic high is overhead this morning. Winds will turn to the southeast during the day with a push of somewhat milder air. Clouds thicken and snowflakes follow later today.
This snow making system arriving tonight will spread nasty weather across the Great Lakes on Tuesday and continue into Wednesday.
