Fire fighters in southern California took advantage of the lighter winds on Tuesday to get the upper hand on controlling the wild fires. Very low humidities today will continue the high fire danger around Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Omar will swamp portions of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands with wind driven rains today. This Hurricane is likely to strengthen some during the day as it tracks to the north and then northeast.
