Mellow yellow leaves floated down like large snowflakes from my ash tree yesterday afternoon, stirred by warm southerly breezes. The end is approaching for the colorful splash of the autumn season we enjoyed the past week or so.
Plenty of acquaintances commented on how beautfiul fhe fall foliage decorated the landscape this October. I had no answer as to why the colors were so brillant, but recalled that Dr. Seeley earlier believed the cool snap a month ago may induce a burst of reds, orange, scarlet and yellow hues. Perhaps Mother Nature was wishing to distract us from the nation's financial woes. Viewing this masterpiece of creation sure worked for me.
A nearly steady rain and a wind shift to the west and northwest will likely take down more leaves today. Seasonal temperatures are expected the rest of the week.
