We were due

After fourteen consecutive days with at or above normal daily temperatures in the Twin Cities we will see the mercury fall short of the thirty year average today. However, we will close out the month of September about 2.5 degrees above normal. Once again, for the fifth consecutive month, the precipitaiton total will fall well short of normal.

The Climate Prediction, after weeks of analysis has determined the weather pattern for October is too tough to call. Thus the outlook is for equal chances of above and below normal tempeatures and precipitation.

If we dare to expose our humanity, and we dare, the Climate Prediction Center is stating, quite confidently, even without an El Nino, that the odds favor above normal temperatures for the winter months of December though February.
