A side order of hail

Posted at 8:11 AM on August 14, 2008 by Craig Edwards (2 Comments)

While the probability of thunderstorms may have been on the order of thirty percent on Wednesday, same places that received a good downpour had to accept some hail as a side order.

Three quarter inch diameter hail fell for several minutes near New Trier in Dakota County, southeast of the Twin Cities. This strong thunderstorm earlier had passed through portions of Hennepin County slowing traffic as motorist tested their windshield wipers for the first time in quite a while.

Big size hail hammered portions of southwest Minnesota. Read the report to share the details with your friends at happy hour this evening. Guess who checked in with hail greater than three inches?
