With the computer models signaling the potential for strong thunderstorms nearby on Thursday, it is appropriate to take a few moments to present preparedness information on staying safe from damaging winds, hail and tornadoes.
It has been nearly a month and half since Hazardous Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota. As summer activities gear up, it is important to review some basic safety facts. This knowledge will help to minimize your chances of being a victim of severe thunderstorms.
Stay in touch with developing weather by monitoring the Web site from the Storm Prediction Center and tuning in to Minnesota Public Radio.
