It's been my impression that there is so much uplift and so many competing storms in a high risk area that the chance for tornadoes is diminished, and the threat mode switches to hail and wind.

This one, though...

The 18Z soundings (and there'd better be some) will be quite telling.

We're out of the high risk (but still in the moderate risk) at the 1630Z convective outlook update.
