Tropical Weather Back in the Headlines

Posted at 8:23 AM on June 20, 2008 by Mark Seeley

Over the weekend Typhoon Fengshen is likely to have significant impact as it moves over Luzon, and specifically the city of Manila in the Philippines. This Typhoon has intensified over warm waters and boasts wind speeds close to 110 mph with wave heights of 20 feet. Widespread flooding, landslides, and coastal storm surges may do significant damage to this western Pacific island nation. I expect we'll see more written about this storm over the next few days.

You can track its progress at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center web site
