Journey through spring stalled out

The cold front that moved through Minnesota on Wednesday has stalled out from St. Joseph, Missouri to Chicago. A large swath of rain has formed to the north of the front with a half inch to three quarter inch of rain in eastern Nebraska early this morning.
Flood watches have been posted from northeast Kansas to northeast Iowa as rain along with isolated thundershowers persists through Friday.
Southeast Minnesota, Albert Lea to Winona, will likely receive generous rainfall amounts during the next 48 hours. The northern edge of the precipitation is expected to touch the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities metro area.
Meanwhile, quiet and seasonal weather can be expected for central and northern Minnesota.
