Tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio News stations, we'll have a visit in the studio with Indiana based singer-songwriter Krista Detor. She'll sing a song that asks someone to steal a car, and will tell us about prison time logged by a close relative. That opens the door for some jail songs - a rich vein in the Radio Heartland library.
In hour two, we'll get a preview of the first installment of tomorrow night's Americana Showcase series. These concerts were recorded over the past few months at the Civic Theater in Rochester, Minnesota, featuring musicians from southeastern Minnesota, the Twin Cities and Nashville. We'll hear an excerpt from the performance of Chris Knight, an excellent songwriter who is often compared with Steve Earle and John Prine.
That's tonight on Radio Heartland on MPR news stations - repeated Sunday at noon and Monday at 6 pm.
looking forward to tonight's show, i'm home tonight after working 8 hrs yesterday at the bookstore; it was busy too!
