Tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio News stations, we'll take one more spin around the music library for 2009 and play tunes that might be used to properly end a calendar year. There will be songs of resolution and change; pleading, wistful ballads about how things are going to be very different than they were - for good and for otherwise. We'll also hear descriptive accounts of something endlessly circling something else - is it the sun, or the drain? Find out in hour one.
In the second hour, I'll welcome the Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank. Brothers Teague and Ian Alexy and co-hobo Paul Grill have a new collection of songs called "Travelin' Show". As one always must with wandering gentlemen, we'll discuss the trips they've taken and life on the road, but we'll also keep an eye on the future with a song called "2010".

the 3 christmas concerts were wonderful. neil and leandra were great. the steeles final version of this tradition before begining the next and peter with kevin kling was like a christmas present in itself to me. i am really happy to have had access to it all yesterday. thanks

Thanks, tim.
I agree with you completely on the concert comment. We're lucky to have such a variety of musical talent in Minnesota, and handing over Radio Heartland to Neal & Leandra, The Steeles and Peter Ostroushko was an easy decision. I was delighted with what I heard when I tuned in on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A salute to Mike Pengra for working overtime to make it all happen.
I hope everyone made it through the storm without much trouble.
Onward to 2010!
