Tonight on Radio Heartland, from 9 to 11 on Minnesota Public Radio News Stations, we'll have a couple of in-studio sessions with musicians Cliff Eberhardt and Jeff Ray.

Cliff Eberhardt has had a long, fruitful, and sometimes difficult career in music, scoring early with a big commercial TV jingle for an American car company and then suffering through his own car accident and the resutling loss of his recording contract. He rebounded, rehabilitated and signed with local label Red House Records. Cliff continues his successful second act with a new recording called 500 Miles - the Blue Rock Sessions. He performs tomorrow night (Sunday, November 29) at the Cedar Cultural Center along with Storyhill.

In the second hour, Minnesota musician Jeff Ray, who started out in Rochester, a medical town, and moved to Memphis, a music town. Along the way he picked up a love for foot stomping blues and resophonic guitars. We'll hear the latest from Jeff Ray and the Stakes tonight on Radio Heartland.

i will be at cliffs shindig at the cedar tomorrow if at all possible. i really enjoy his stuff. i missed the thanksgiving day and good friday blogs with holiday bliss crowding my time.
my daughters will make ceramic gifts this year. we have the clay and the liln lined up and need to choose the glazes and get it shipped in time. kind of like my christmas card. i write it and then have the cjhallange of getting it out in time for the holidays. i guess i could start earlier but alas if a frog had wings it wouldn't land on its butt each time it jumped.
keep the tunes playing. love the new additions to radiop heartland too. it is becoming a familiar spot to settle into.
thanks

Greetings! I, too, was busy and out of town with no computer access for 2 days. We go to Fountain City where my sister and her husband own a cool old tavern/restaurant. We have the whole place to ourselves for the day with perfect facilities for cooking, serving, playing pool, games, listening to jukebox tunes, drinking, eating and conversing.

After the feast, we usually try to do something for less fortunate folks. When my parents were alive, we would put together quilts for homeless shelters. Last year we filled and decorated boxes for Good Samaritan Society to send to poor kids overseas. This year we just did boxes for my son in Afghanistan and his 2 cousins who teach English in South Korea. Only done Black Friday shopping a couple times -- now I totally avoid it. Love internet shopping! I like the idea of homemade gifts, but never sure what to make that is nice AND useful. Macaroni picture frames just don't cut it ....

Joanne in Big Lake: I'm a bit late reading your Thanksgiving post. Would the tavern in Fountain City be the Monarch? My husband and I know it well. We are Arcadia people who happen to be living in Prague, CZ teaching English.
