Together again!
Just kidding. But they'll be in close proximity tonight on Radio Heartland, from 9 to 11 pm on Minnesota Public Radio News stations.
Hour one will feature the charming and witty Twin Cities songwriter Ann Reed with some new selections from her upcoming CD, Where The Earth Is Round.
The disc will have its release concert on Halloween night, October 31st, at the Hopkins Center for the Arts.
In hour two, the cast of History Theater's "Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story" will visit our studio. Nicholas Freeman stars as Buddy. He's backed up by some Crickets from McNally Smith College of Music, a natural collaborator with History Theater since the two organizations share a downtown St. Paul building. Josh Bourdon, Zach Spicer and Brandon Petron will join Nicholas along with History Theater artistic director Ron Peluso and the show's music director, Gary Rue.
That's tonight on Radio Heartland!
Looking forward to tonight's show. Very happy about the additions to the schedule beginning in November. Your faithful listener, Michelle in Winona
Thanks Michelle.
It's a good show - Ann was funny, as usual, and we had a lot of laughs.
And the Buddy Holly play at the History Theater is already doing so well, they've added two shows to the run!
I hope you're having a fine, sunny (at last) day in Winona.
what a good night to NOT be working!
thanx
Greetings! I'm looking forward to listening to this show -- Ann Reed is such fun.
I think I went to college with Ron Peluso at the U of MN-Mpls. I remember him directing a couple shows back then -- actually, I think I had a very small role in one, but that play never made it to full production. I graduated in 1982, so I don't really remember ...
Wow -- they sound very much like Buddy Holly & the Crickets. Great show, Dale -- interesting take on music and theatre combined.
That's definitely the Ron Peluso I remember from college -- a few years older than me and his distinct voice. Glad to see he's landed in a nice artistic director role. My BA in Theatre was never truly utilized. It was fun, but alas, I sucked at acting.
