For many people around the region, it's the first Saturday night after the beginning of the academic year. Tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio News, hour one will feature a bouquet of back-to-school songs guaranteed to make you a bona-fide teacher's pest.
Pet, I mean.
We'll hear from Chuck Berry, the Austin Lounge Lizards and Steve Martin, just to name a few.
In hour two, I'll welcome southern Minnesota farm boy Brandon Sampson to the studio.
Having some fingers crushed when he was 9 years old led Brandon away from livestock and towards the guitar. With his brother Brian he founded the band Six Mile Grove.
Today he works diligently at his music on nights and weekends while filling the days as a builder of artificial limbs.
We'll hear about the influences and accidents that make up a music career tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio News.
I love the perspective of the "accidents"...Just finishing my third week of a new teaching job I look forward to tonight's show.
Also...checking in to let you know how I appreciate and love Radio Heartland, (Radio Heartland is on in my office and at home)!
THANKS Dale, Mike, Radio Heartland bloggers!!!
