Tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio news stations, I'll talk with Red House Records president Eric Peltoniemi about the rapidly changing environment in the music business and how a small, independent company navigates in such choppy economic, artistic and technological waters.
One way they do it is to stay connected to their most loyal supporters through events like next weekend's "Blues at the Barn" event at Hobgoblin Music in Red Wing.

We'll hear some new music from the Wailin' Jennys and The Pines.
In the second hour, local jazz singer Connie Evingson stops to participate in a Salute to Tributes! Or is that a Tribute to Salutes? Our library is overflowing with recordings of musicians paying homage to their artistic heroes. Connie has done three such discs, one in honor of Peggy Lee, another to honor St. Paul born jazz pianist Dave Frishberg, and the third a collection of Lennon/McCartney tunes. She's in the early stages of planning a series of bi-monthly shows at the Jungle Theater to showcase the work of her favorite songwriters.
Local record mogul Eric Peltoneimi and jazz singer / artisitc instigator Connie Evingson, tonight on Radio Heartland.
