Don't forget - we have a Radio Heartland special tonight at 7pm - a concert featuring Susan Werner and Cheryl Wheeler, recorded at the Cedar Cultural Center last March 8th.
This is our first attempt at a "live concert" type program, and I'd be delighted to hear how it works for you as a broadcast / webcast. If you know someone who might enjoy listening, please tell them. Because we're online, people can hear Radio Heartland anywhere in the world! It matters when somebody visits the Radio Heartland website. Visits indicate interest and interest suggests potential and potential proves that Radio Heartland is a service worth providing.
Good things happen when you and your friends tune in.
Let me know how you listen, where you listen, and what you think we should do to make this kind of programming more interesting and more enjoyable.
Hi Dale,
I love what your doing and log in whenever I'm sitting at or near my home computer. I really wish Radio Heartland could be heard on regular radio in the outstate. I can get at least 2 public radio classical stations (I think one is an IPR station) where I'm at (SW MN) but I just can't believe there is that much of a need for classical radio out here. I do know a ton of people who listened to the morning show, and then switched stations at 9am, an now do not listen at all. I bet Radio Heartland would be well-recieved out here. I'd have it on all day.
Ditto to Chris' comments. Without a broadband connection, my chance to hear RH is limited to FM in Northwest Mn, so the Morning Show is certainly missed by us outstate Luddites.
Thanks Chris and Linda,
I'm hoping the expansion of HD radio service to the entire MPR network will make it possible to extend Radio Heartland through that avenue, though it would require a new radio to hear it. HD works great in the Twin Cities. I was even able to order (and install) a car radio that receives Radio Heartland, so hang in there. The technology has great potential.
And thanks for listening when and where you can!
The Wheeler/Werner concert is marvelous! I have RH on whenever I'm on the computer and I turn it up when I walk away and do something else! If I support MPR am I also supporting RH, or do I contribute separately? I love how you throw in some classic jazz ballads now and then - and your entire mix is terrific!
gloria
great concert, thank you so much for offering it
i have an hd radio, but it's downstairs so i'd love to get it on the radio upstairs too! my computer speakers are really tinny!
Dale and Mike,
Thank you for providing the Susan Werner/Cheryl Wheeler concert. I loved it! I listened through iTunes while working on taxes, which is how I always listen to RH. It works, but I also look forward to receiving the signal in Sioux Falls someday. I won't mind at all buying the HD radio.
Hi Dale and Mike,
Thank you for broadcasting the very enjoyable concert, & Sunday night worked out well. I’m at my computer—again. Thanks for keeping me company.
Thanks everyone for listening to the concert.
It sounded great at my house as well, thanks to the engineering work by Chris Frymire and the production skills of Mike Pengra.
Gloria, your contribution to MPR finances everything MPR does, including Radio Heartland. When you make a contribution, be sure to indicate that RH is one reason you support us.
That helps!
I just LOVED the Werner/Wheeler concert! Thanks for bringing it to us! What a great idea! I laughed and listened through the entire thing. A nice change from Sunday night television.
When The Morning Show went off the air, I received a new HD radio as a gift, and it is on and tuned to Radio Heartland whenever I'm home. I even leave it on for the cat when I'm at work!
Thanks so much for replaying the Werner/Wheeler concert.
We were at the Diva concert when you played it on Sunday -You just have too many good ideas. Thanks again.
