Tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio News, the brother-sister team from the band Nickel Creek, Sara and Sean Watkins, are my guests in the studio. They're touring to promote a new recording built around Sara's remarkable vocals. They'll do a couple of original tunes and covers of songs by David Garza and John Hartford.
We'll also hear recordings of some other sister-brother musical duos.
There are more than you think!
In the second hour, we'll have an Earth Week parade - environmental songs from Joni Mitchell, Johnny Cash, Tom Lehrer, and Randy Newman, to name a few.
All these songs rise out of concern for the fate of the Earth - some are beautiful, others are lighthearted, and Don McLean provides the darkest "green" song in our collection.
i am very pleased that i didn't have to work tonight and i can listen to your whole saturday program for a change!
Thanks for listening, Shelley!
No one should have to work on Saturday night!
I am unable to get 91.1-2 on any of my HD radios this AM. 91.1-1 is OK. Is there a technical problem?
Not really a comment on your post. But not sure how to talk to you.
You just played Angeline. Various pronunciations of that name.
Your punctuation is the second song of New Golden Ring Volume II.
I worn you though...the singers sing the name "Angeline" (your pronunciation) a hundred times.
