Top Grossing Movie of All Time: Gibson's Passion of the Christ

That it a slightly misleading title...it got your attention, right? The Passion of the Christ is not the top grossing movie of all time, unless you break down movies by their ratings. It's the top R-rated movie of all time. It made $370,782,930. Number two? A movie that's thought of as kind of a flop, The Matrix: Reloaded. Then comes Beverly Hills Cop.
These are only domestic numbers, and they are not adjusted for inflation, but it's still a big chjunk of change and explains why Fox is opening a new arm for Christian films.
Some other top grossers by rating:
G: Finding Nemo $339,714,978
PG: Star Wars $460,998,007
PG-13: Titanic $600,788,188
NC-17: Showgirls $20,350,754
But, of course, if you adjust for inflation, the number one domestic movie of all time remains Gone with the Wind.
