Better than America's Funniest Home Videos

Posted at 2:38 PM on September 15, 2006 by Stephanie Curtis (3 Comments)

Is "America's Funniest Home Videos" on the air still? I know it is at least in endless re-runs. The Found Footage Festival is much, much better than that but there is some common DNA. The curators of the festival get videos and films from Goodwills, dumpsters and backrooms across the country. They screen the clips and add commentaries and stories to the clips. The great thing about the clips is that they run long enough. It isn't just five seconds of bloopers or a cat falling into a cereal bowl. You get to see the full horror of fast-food training videos and home movies of rural Midwesterners repairing scooters while drinking beer. These weren't meant to be seen in as a great a theater as The Heights, but tonight they are. See the work of industrial film Fellinis starting at 8:00 tonight. There's also a pre-event party starting at 6:30.

This is my sister little son Myles with a quiet attack slapping his uncle James my brother. This video is also on myspace: www.myspace.com/3rdson_jagĀ along with other projects I produced.
