Here's Johnny

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" begins with copious exposition but I was still left wondering, "Why are they on this island? Who's that guy anyway? What the heck is happening?"

Well, in short, don't worry about it. Some parts of the plot will be explained eventually, other things really don't matter at all and some plotpoints I'm guessing will be explained in the next "Pirates" movie. Just sit back and enjoy Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow, whose bizarre woozy bumbling doesn't seem old yet (that might be in the next movie along with the plot resolution.) Enjoy silly action scenes and the handful of beautiful, non-soundstage beaches and island scenes. Most of all, be as amazed as I was by the undulating octopi face of Bill Nighy's Davy Jones (the bad guy in the film.)

In short, the movie is lots of dumb fun.
