Snow cancels some shows, makes attending difficult

Posted at 3:00 PM on December 9, 2012 by Marianne Combs (1 Comments)

As the total snow accumulations continue to climb in the Twin Cities, some performers have chosen to cancel their shows rather than pressure their audiences to brave the hazardous driving conditions. But many more companies have decided to perform anyway, while offering ticket holders the opportunity to come another night.

The Minnesota History Center is closing at 3pm today.

The Capri Big Band has canceled its 3pm performance at the Capri Theater in Minneapolis, with a promise to reschedule in January.

Chorus Polaris has canceled its 4pm concert at First Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights.

Guthrie Theater plans to ahead with
tonight's performances; ticket holders who can't make it should contact the box office at boxoffice@guthrietheater.org or call 612.377.2224.

UPDATE 3:48pm: Tonight's "Christmas on the Homefront" at the James J. Hill House has been postponed to Dec. 18. All reservations will receive a phone call. @mnhs

UPDATE 4:17pm Soap Factory gallery reports that it's snowed in, and has closed early.

I'll continue to update cancellations and other weather-related performance news throughout the afternoon and early evening.
