4 ways to revive your weekend

While many families will be preoccupied with Easter celebrations, that doesn't mean you have to put your cultural life on hold. Here are few ideas to get your weekend hopping!

1. The Birthday Party
An innocuous birthday party turns into a totalitarian nightmare in this Harold Pinter production. Director Joel Sass describes it as "David Lynch meets Quentin Terentino through Beckett." At the Jungle Theater through May 13.

2. Shapiro and Smith Dance
This Twin Cities contemporary dance institution celebrates 25 years with a weekend of performances at the Cowles Center for Dance. The show includes two premieres along with three company favorites.

3. Los Cuatro Ases
Four local Latino artists, including painter Dougie Padilla and photographer Xavier Tavera join forces to create two and three-dimensional art. Expect amazing colors and dynamic imagery from this quartet. Opening celebration is Saturday night at Casket Arts in Northeast Minneapolis.

4. Dracula
Storyteller Megan Wells distills Bram Stoker's novel into a one-woman show in which she performs all the parts, alive and undead. Tonight and tomorrow at Black Forest Inn in Minneapolis.
