Horner: no quick resolution to budget impasse

Posted at 3:31 PM on July 5, 2011 by Catharine Richert (0 Comments)

Former Independence Party gubernatorial candidate Tom Horner was the guest on today's Midday.

He said he doesn't expect a speedy end to the budget stalemate because Gov. Mark Dayton and GOP legislators are only talking about two types of solutions: tax increases or spending cuts.

"If we keep having the same debate, we just keep solidifying positions between solve everything through spending cuts or solve everything through tax the wealthy, I don't think either of those positions allow room for either new ideas or even compromise."
