Republican leaders say they expect to meet at 2 p.m. today with Gov. Mark Dayton in his office to talk about the budget.

Dayton earlier today offered to accept the GOP budget offer from June 30 with a few conditions. Republicans haven't yet responded publicly to the offer.

Also, Minnesota Public Radio News will air a two-hour live call in show today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with reaction to today's news from politicians, analysts and listeners.

I have been listening to the Governors announcement that he is accepting the last Republican offer on the budget before the shut down.

Doesn't anyone see that he has not accepted their offer. He has presented a counter offer. They are not the same thing. I am so sick of the politics surrounding this matter. Clearly the Governor made the statement the way he did to put pressure on the Republicans to accept his counter offer. This is just business as usual. I used to have a certain amount of respect for Mark Dayton. That respect has been bled down to nothing. This coming from a person who has voted for both Republicans and Democrats. And the Republicans have not handled themselves any better.

Our two party system spits out candidates that no one except the party wonks like. We have no meaningful choices.

The Governor says he is accepting their offer and then makes a counter offer? Come on!!!!
