Congress is returning for a short pre-election session. A big question is whether they'll make any attempt to address the looming cuts and tax hikes in what is known as the fiscal cliff.
The Treasury will reduce the government's A.I.G. stake to below fifty percent.
Race for Senate
Republican Kurt Bills is still lagging DFLer Amy Klobuchar in a poll but the Bills campaign sees it as a positive.
Race for Congress

Duluth Democrats endorsed a local fire officials as their candidate to replace DFL Rep. Kerry Gauthier. Gauthier isn't running for reelection but is on the ballot. Democrats will have to wage a write-in campaign.
Race for President
Mitt Romney says he likes some portions of the health care law enacted under President Obama.
Romney is also struggling to gain traction in battleground states.
A CNN poll says Obama has expanded his advantage over Romney.
Romney says the Democratic Party's platform shows that the party is extreme.
Obama outraised Romney in August.
The PoliGraph says the American Future Fund flier ignores key details.
