Minnesota Congressman and Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann says NBC host Jimmy Fallon apologized to her Wednesday for a song that was played on his program introducing her.
The song by the band Fishbone is called "Lyin' Ass Bitch."
Bachmann told MPR News that Fallon told her he was unaware that his show's band the Roots planned to play the song, and Bachmann said she believes him. Bachmann said she spoke with Fallon on the phone Wednesday.
Bachmann is still demanding an apology from NBC.
"I'm a serious candidate for the presidency of the United States, a conservative, a Republican woman and this happened and NBC did absolutely nothing," she said. "Had the tables been turned, had Michelle Obama come out on the stage and they played a foul song like they did for me, I have absolutely no doubt that NBC would have not only called and apologized to Mrs. Obama, most likely that individual who did that would have been fired."
Bachmann said Fallon called Tuesday as well, but that she did not have time to talk the call because she was busy preparing for last night's debate.
NBC did not respond to inquiries about Bachmann's demand for an apology.
Michele Bachmann does lie and distort the truth continuously, and even so, she does deserve respect. But I think the lady doth protest too much. Where's her sense of humor?
Why is the Bachmann camp keeping this story in the news cycle. She comes out demanding an apology and every news story has her name and "Lying Ass Bitch" in it. I am not in PR, but it seems something she should have brushed off instead of making hay out a story that would have disappeared in half a day.
I don't understand why Bachmann thinks her candidacy, political affiliation, or gender entitles her to any respect. A better argument would be to state she's a member of Congress, but the truth is the overwhelming majority of citizens think Congress is doing a horrible job. So what do you really expect when appearing on a late night comedian's television show?
repubs have no sense of humor.... seriously
> repubs have no sense of humor.... seriously
Fallon's band has no class.
Last time I checked, Michelle Obama want a candidate, and speculation means nothing.
but I suppose Ms Bachmann has got to build some hype so she can sell her book.
The NASCAR fans booing the First Lady and Mrs. Biden was crass and classless, as was the Roots' decision to play the intro they did for a Member of Congress. That said, Bachmann could take a lesson from Obama and Biden and choose the high road and ignore the same. By drawing it out and demanding apology after apology, all she's doing is trying to extend the life of what isn't really a story to begin with. Move on already.
When she is not lying, she is greatly mis-informed.
John Wayne Casey issue is just one.
Celebrating John Lennon's Birthday on the anniversary of his death, claiming to know because she is a big fan, could be due to lying or just Stupid.... or crazy... not sure....
Either way, she is a few bats short of a belfry...
And If I was Fellon or NBC, I would quote all the times Bachman lied, misinformed, omitted, or even GOOFed and refused to apologize
THEN get her to apologize on those BEFORE offering her one. She never has corrected her mistakes.
"Jimmy Fallon and Questlove apologize to Michele Bachmann."

Imagine what would have happened if the Team Obama media jackals NBC had tried that on Michele Obama. The vile NBC sllimeballs will have to grovel to MB. NBC has become the sewer pit of the nation.
Sense of humor? You liberals are so full of crap. You lie.
John Wayne Gacy?? Please!!
"Navy Corpse-man....Navy Corpse...man....." Anyone?
Obama said he was in ASIA last week standing in Hawaii....He's a dim bulb who couldn't teach a constitutional law class to save his life. Bachmann would run circles around him in a one-on-one in a debate about the Constitution.
(MPR won't post this comment because it's an "attack")
Nothing like a little liberal lunacy, hypocrisy and irony.
Come on, people...get real. As is usually the case with Bachmann, it's about attention getting and money.
Fallon's band did her a favor, accidentally. She can raise money off of this, playing the victim card with her supporters. Why would she "rise above this and ignore it" when supporters are willing to send her money when she's "attacked" (by a band on a late night talk show?)
It's attention for Bachmann in the national media (which she thrives on), a celebrity name is involved (which means more people are going to talk about it), and to conservatives it's a "she's being persecuted by mainstream media" story (which she can make money off of.)
As I say: they meant to insult her but ended up actually doing her a favor. Please try to see beyond "the shiny object" when you're evaluating this kind of Bachmann story.
I do believe that if this had happened to any lib there would have been a mass calling for someones resignation or firing. The Obama/ Biden incident was not caused by the race track officials, it was the fans, the public that booed them. If Jimmy Fallon's audience would have booed her that would be a different story. The media is always playing the double standard. Just look at the way the media played the Clinton sex scandal, which in part took place in the oval office, and what they are trying to do to Herman Cain. Did they ask Bill Clinton to take a lie detector test.
I don't agree with Michele Bachmann about much of anything, but she got this one right. The Unbending Left needs to think how offended they would have been had, say, Hillary Clinton been subjected to this insult.
On the other hand, the Wingnut Nation once again demonstrates no class at all, in comments above, by equating all Democrats with the misbehavior of Fallon's band.
