Has the tea party blinked over a possible government shutdown?

Rep. Michele Bachmann wrote in a blog post this afternoon, "The current battle has devolved to an agenda that is almost too limited to warrant the kind of fighting that we're now seeing in Washington."

She called the current budget deal on the table - cuts worth approximately $40 billion - "not enough" in the context of a $3.5 trillion dollar federal budget.

Instead, Bachmann repeated her call to defund the health care overhaul passed into law last year and make major cuts to the federal budget.

"I am ready for a big fight, the kind that will change the arc of history," wrote Bachmann, who's mulling a bid for the White House.
