Democrat Mark Dayton spoke with reporters after the AP declared him the winner of the DFL primary. Margaret Anderson Kelliher has not conceded and the results are still coming in (Listen). Dayton didn't declare victory and said he respected Kelliher's decision.

Here's the audio of Dayton's newser: Listen

Well, that was an interesting night. On a regional basis, the primary this most closely resembles seems to be the 1994 DFL Governor primary, with Hatch/Dayton getting their support from outstate and running especially strong in northern MN; with the Marty/Kelliher vote coming from the metro area and a handful of rural counties with colleges in them.

Of course, the metro candidate won the '94 primary by a 1.5% margin, whereas this time the outstate candidate looks to win by roughly the same amount. A few votes here, a few votes there...

Here's an interesting question to ponder: Who did Entenza take more votes away from?

I don't know who Entenza took votes from, but here's an interesting number to ponder: dumping $5 million of his wife's United Health loot into the race for 80,000 votes cost Entenza $62.50 per vote.
